Business plan mapped out for Yorkshire
Article Abstract:
A business plan has been developed for Yorkshire, England by the Yorkshire branch of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). A new structure for the branch has been set out in the business plan. Two service areas have been recommended, outreach activities and services relating to members. Improved accountability is also a goal of the restructuring. The structure was accepted at an annual meeting. The published plan is a useful internal document as well as serving as a publicity vehicle.

Cities need colour
Article Abstract:
City planners should take a holistic approach when designing in urban areas. Any future plans should reflect the diverse nature of a city allowing the liveliness of the life in the street to remain. A city does not need to be dull and over-planned but can allowed to grow and develop without separating different functions into their own areas. Old rules of planning should be over turned to make city life more attractive and vital.
