Carburisation makes it Just-in-Time

Article Abstract:

French-based ECM Infrafours Physitherm has developed a Just-in-Time (JIT) process to carburise metal components, which is faster, cleaner and cheaper than the standard methods used in the metal industry. The JIT system also prevents metal distortion which can lead to improved strength and a wider range of possible end uses. ECM claim an improved fatigue resistance rate of between 10% - 30% has been achieved using the new method, which also requires less zoning areas.

Side mounting makes it cool to be in control

Article Abstract:

Integral motor manufacturer ABB Motors has developed an all-new design which resolves a number of faults in other designs. Unlike companies which use a piggyback motor design, the ABB product uses a side mounting arrangement. The motor does not overheat and has reduced vibration. It works at power ratings of between 0.75 to 7.5 kilowatts with variable speed operation from 300 to 6,000 revolutions per minute.
