Coming: 12600 Megawatts at Itaipu Island
Article Abstract:
Unusual problems resulted in the design and construction of the 12600 megawatt power plant at Itaipu Island, situated between Paraguay and Brazil. New technologies were needed to solve the problems presented by the world's largest power plant. On-site assembly of generators, selection of switchgear, and mechanical design problems all were confronted. Specifications and diagrams of the project are given.

Liberalism is alive and healthy in the US even as various politicians speak of its demise. Within the last 30 years, the US has gone from a nation that denigrated the human rights and dignity of a vast number of its citizens to one that debates multiculturalism and the budget.
