Conducting polymers
Article Abstract:
Conducting polymers increasingly are being used in batteries, overcurrent protection devices and micromachines because they are easily processed and are lightweight. Conducting polymers are attractive because they are electrically and mechanically compatible with copper conductors and silicon semiconductors. Currently, the addition of conducting fillers, including carbon black and copper to conventional polymers, is the only technique to create easy-to-process materials having some measurable electrical conductivity. The technique is low cost, but problems can develop due to surface corrosion, reduced mechanical properties and uneven mixing. Some researchers are now investigating the possibility of using conductive polymer instead of carbon black or other fillers.

Conducting polymers
Article Abstract:
Inherently conducting polymers (ICPs) are good materials for bionic devices because they are more similar to biological macromolecular structures. They several ideal mechanical and electrical properties, but their dynamic behavior makes the material widely applicable. The applications of ICPs in various bionic devices are discussed.
