Epistemology of knowledge based simulation
Article Abstract:
Combining artificial intelligence concepts with traditional simulation methodologies yields a powerful design support tool known as knowledge based simulation. This approach turns a descriptive simulation tool into a prescriptive tool, one which recommends specific goals. Much work in the area of general goal processing and explanation of recommendations remains to be done. (Reprinted by permission of the publisher.)

Polishing the analysis of the statistical output of comparative simulation experiments
Article Abstract:
Statistical tests have always played an important role in the analysis of comparative simulation experiments. This paper argues for a shift of emphasis toward a more exploratory approach to the analysis of such data and, in particular, the wider use of Tukey's median polish.
