The TQEM-ISO 14001 connection
Article Abstract:
Total quality environmental management (TQEM) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 14001 are standards that link business processes to environment management. TQEM integrates the principles of total quality management with environment management policies. ISO 14001 provides a framework for TQEM and other management policies and allows business enterprises to obtain third-party registrations. The incorporation of environment objectives into business processes by P&G, DEC, and Wheelabrator Technologies Inc. is discussed.

Scientific method: the generation of knowledge and quality
Article Abstract:
The quality movement provides an impetus to the generation of new knowledge, and is responsible for analyzation, institutionalization, democratization and comprehensive defusion of the scientific method. Continuous improvement and iterative inductive-deductive learning are fundamental aspects of the scientific process and are also related to quality improvement. The quality movement counteracts knowledge fractionation, overcomes the problems resulting from poor quality products and services, and creates an efficient work environment.
