Leading by example: the access issue

Article Abstract:

Judges of the Planning Achievement Awards were pleased with the variety of entries received and commended entries and the overall winner concentrated on conservation and regeneration. The winner, the Castle Mall Shopping Centre, Norwich, features provision for disabled access. However the Tate Gallery at St Ives received criticism by the Access Committee for England over the gallery's suitability for disabled access.

Mainframe Power with Deskside Convenience

Article Abstract:

Celerity Computing has introduced a minicomputer for engineering and scientific applications called the C1200 Professional Workstation. Priced at $72,000 with a high-resolution color graphics display monitor, the C1200 is based on the UCB-enhanced UNIX operating system and has a floating-point coprocessor. The 32-bit superminicomputer is very compact (21 X 30 X 29 inches) and can support up to eight users.

Access to the Mainframe

Article Abstract:

A link between microcomputers and mainframe computers is sought. Link products are reviewed that provide limited access to mainframes. An 'intelligent link' is desired that will provide a high level of data selection. A corporate micro-user can gain complete access using user profiles.
