Vacuum cleaner giant Dyson prefers to use traditional hands-on approach to rapid product development rather than simply relying alone on numerical software. Dyson believes that many of its discoveries come from actually touching and feeling physical working prototypes even though the computers are great for optimizing and improving designs with even concept designs often sketched by hand on paper.

UK-based couplings manufacturer Huco has developed 'Torq-Link', a unique design of coupling that combines the torsional stiffness of a straight beam coupling with the lateral flexibility of its helical counterpart.
