Performance modeling of multistage production systems operating under hybrid push/pull control
Article Abstract:
An analysis of a four-phase hair dryer production method using Markov processes to determine optimal performance factors shows that a hybrid line operating policy consisting both push and pull determinants is the best production policy. Comparing push and pull, the former turns out to be superior in cases of raw material constraints. Nonetheless, if the demand for the product cannot be reasonably predicted, the appropriate production policy remains nonspecific.

The optimum target values for a production process with three-class screening
Article Abstract:
Two profit models were developed to assess the effects of raising the process parameter on the profits on each product produced. This was done by correlating the expected profits with factors such as selling prices, production, inspection and penalty costs. The derivation of the optimal process mean that will result in higher profits for each product is allowed for.
