Quality pays for investors
Article Abstract:
A study conducted by the National Institute of Standards and Technology reveals that companies recognized for their quality efforts were able to maintain strong stock prices. The study shows that companies which were granted the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award between 1988 and 1994 posted 188% return on investment while Standard and Poor's 500-Stock Price Index return on investment was merely 28%.

Biomedical engineering of the human body started out with visionary concepts, but this field is starting to take shape in real life, thanks to new technologies. Conducting polymers for bionic devices, tissue engineering and bioprinting are some of the areas that are being developed. A preview of the Society for Biological Engineers' conferences is given as well.
