Simulation approach in comparison of a pull system in a cell production system with a push in a conventional production system according to flexible cost: a case study
Article Abstract:
A case study was conducted to simulate a comparison of the just-in-time (JIT) philosophy, which utilizes the pull approach in production, and the push approach, which is usually used in conventional production systems. The simulation indicates a promising scenario for a manufacturing operation that decides to switch to new process utilizing the pull or JIT production system. The simulation was intended to help manufacturers consider production processes that can lower production costs and enhance quality at short delivery times.

Optimization of cyclic manufacturing systems with stochastic manufacturing times using event graphs
Article Abstract:
A method is developed for solving the marking optimization problem in stochastic event graphs. The main objective is to attain a specific cycle time while minimizing cost. The method is a two-stage process wherein an optimal solution is calculated for the deterministic problem obtained by assigning the mean value of the related random variable to each transition, followed by the addition of a new token in a place to be determined as long as the cycle time C is not reached.

The development of an integration modelling method for manufacturing cell controlm systems
Article Abstract:
Computer-integrated manufacturing has become a favored method in manufacturing processes. The manufacturing cell, or cell control systems, are defined by variables of real-time control, data processing, communications, organization and applications. An integrated modelling method has been developed based on requirements analysis, requirement-specific modelling and model integration.
