The next generation of school reform

Article Abstract:

Georgia's Next Generation School Project (NGSP) has used total quality management principles to create a new generation of quality schools statewide that use parental/community support to enhance the children's overall performance. Teamwork, team planning, personalized instruction, computer-assisted instruction, and intensive training of school personnel in quality principles are the major features of the NGSP. A ten-point template modeled after W. Edwards Deming's quality model prepares students for meeting the needs of Georgia's 21st century work force.

Total Quality Management (TQM) uses leadership and teamwork as powerful tools to improve educational services within the K-12 school organization in the US.
