Transport time policy and service levels as components in logistics strategy: a case study
Article Abstract:
An empirical study relating to the strategic orientation of logistics with respect to customer service investigated the logistics structure, service level and transport time of a Finnish firm. The analysis demonstrated a method by which a firm with actual margin, that desires to restructure its operations toward more customer-oriented ones without additional costs, can gain additional annual sales and sales price combinations. It was also found that changes in service-level requirements affect cost levels but were identical for each transport time policy.

Price dynamics on the recovered paper market
Article Abstract:
Recovered paper contributes nearly 40% of the world's total fiber supply and the significance of the recovered paper market as well as its dynamic and changing nature require better analytical tools to support decision making. A study therefore combined a qualitative analysis approach with a statistical, multiple regression model to better analyze the structure of the recovered paper market and gauge short-term price shifts. This proposed model explains up to 75% of the short term price changes and has a predictive character.

Hierarchical planning in organizations: elements of a general theory
