Turney power station satisfies island power demand
Article Abstract:
Caribbean Utilities Company Ltd. has added two diesel-fueled generator sets to increase its power capacity to 97.2 megawatts (Mw). Each of the generator sets, which are rated to each supply 4.4 Mw of continuous power, is part of a package that incorporates a 900-rpm, 16-cylinder engine. General Manager Bruce Drake stated that the two generator units are set to be utilized as part of a load-management configuration. Caribbean Utilities have skid-mounted the generators along with its control, shutdown and monitoring systems.
