Global CR in Beijing
Article Abstract:
The National Organization for Women (NOW) delegates to the UN Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing, China, introduced the participants to NOW Feminist Consciousness Raising, a concept aimed to increase women's awareness about their perceived role and their rights in society. It involved a workshop called Consciousness Raising as a Tool for Grassroots Organizing. The outcome of the workshop is discussed.

Tom Devin is a member of the Pool Water Treatment Advisory Group and has been involved in the pool water industry for 15 years. The body represents associations, professionals and institutions involved in a drive to increase the standards and quality of public swimming pool water. Devin has completed more than 30 projects and believes that the main way to drive up standards is to prevent rather than cure.

Great Britain's landscape had been dramatically transformed by its growing population. The disappearance of wildwood, open heathland, and a wide variety of plants and animals is raising public concern about the future of the British landscape. The government is implementing several programs to preserve the environment.
