Testing the importance of patch scale on forest birds
Article Abstract:
The relationship between population density and habit area of central importance for species dependant on declining habitat is studied. The densities of forest interior bird species decline with increasing patch size that demonstrated positive correlations between density and area interpreted as greater than linear relationship between abundance and area, and negative correlations between density and patch size are correctly interpreted as weak relationship between abundance and area.

Plankton community structure in fluctuating environments and the role of productivity
Article Abstract:
Research on marine phytoplankton populations suggests that temporal components are less important to community structure than spatial disruption that occurs during mixing. However, this finding was specific to phytoplankton communities in enriched habitats, that exhibit a high rate of natural spatial heterogeneity.

The nature of tree growth and the "age-related decline in forest productivity"
Article Abstract:
The authors advocate the use of tree growth curves as a context for researching declines in forest productivity. They argue that framing productivity declines as a function of age, or any other specific factor, oversimplifies the issue.
