Treating toxic ground

Article Abstract:

Soil pollution caused by the excessive amount of heavy metals used in industries and by contaminated agricultural products is a huge problem calling for global cooperation. The plan of action to attack the problem requires primarily an evaluation of the present status of pollution as well as its causes and effects. The second stage is close monitoring, the third step necessitates preventive action and the final step will explore the possible treatment alternatives. Since treatment methods are not yet well-defined and may prove costly, prevention is the best remedy.
