Systematic acquired resistance: available information and open ecological questions
Article Abstract:
Some ecological questions arising from physiological findings were outlined to call the attention of ecologists on the systematic acquired resistance (SAR) in plants. The first question is about the widespread of SAR in the plant kingdom. Another is whether SAR fits into the framework which theories on plant defense provide. Moreover, concerns on the physiological or functional relations of SAR with other biological interactions came up.

Toward an integration of landscape and food web ecology: the dynamics of spatially subsidized food webs
Article Abstract:
Spatial subsidization of food webs in species communities is affected by several variables. Movement of prey, consumers and detritus influence food availability and community population within the habitat. Landscape attributes, such as boundary permeability and perimeter/area ratio, impact spatial subsidization's degree and level of importance.
