A Centre of Excellence for the Fire and Rescue Services - consultation gets underway
Article Abstract:
The establishment of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) for the Fire and Rescue Services (FRS) is expected to give the chance to take more responsibility in manging the direction of the Service. A consultation process, which ends on January 31 2008, seeks opinions on the need for a CoE, and proposals for its duties, fundings and structure. The aims of the proposed CoE are presented.

Humanitarian aid to the legacy of Chernobyl

Emergency services in Belarus receive redundant fire kit from West Yorkshire, UK. The donations, which include protective clothing, are courtesy of Chernobyl Children in Need (CCIN), a charitable organization that houses about 4,000 people who were affected by the Chernobyl disaster.
