Managing organic residuals
Article Abstract:
Waste production in developing nations averages between 0.3 and 2.5 pounds per capita daily. The uncontrolled degradation of this organic waste can cause serious environmental problems. The use of biotechnology to manage organic residues will clearly provide many benefits. Economically developing countries, however, must use the right tactics in exploiting biotechnology based on their specific situations, constraints and requirements.
