Software to help water engineers design water re-use network
Article Abstract:
Engineering Sciences Data Unit, a London, UK-based engineering research service company, has unveiled a software product for the water industry in its Process Engineering and Environment series. Called AQUAINT, the water re-use software was developed with the help of a committee drawn from the academia and the industry. It was designed for optimizing freshwater use in a single contaminant system containing only quality-limited operations or a mixed system containing both quality and quantity limited operations.

Stormwater filtration system
Article Abstract:
MYCELX Technologies has unveiled a stormwater filtration system that can be used in parking lot drains for the removal of pollutants contained in stormwater runoff. The filtration system contains a gutter and a water filtration unit filled with SilaKleen, an expanded silicate for catching the 'first flush' of rainwater from parking lots. The resulting effluent is free of sheen, oil, gasoline, diesel fuel, transmission fluids and chlorinated solvents.
