Balancing act: small community water supplier mulls affordable corrosion control with pleasing aesthetics
Article Abstract:
A small water supplier in Stow, MA, that provides water to residents of the Plantation Apartments implemented a pH-adjusting corrosion control treatment system to address aesthetic problems at water consumer taps. The water treatment system comprises of an in-line water softener for removing iron and manganese and an in-line limestone contactor for pH adjustment. Aside from low maintenance requirements, the design of the system also proved to be economical.

Water storage tank fulfills water needs
Article Abstract:
The three-million-gallon water storage tank in Sylacauga, AL, is an important contributor in satisfying the water supply needs of the 17,000 residents in the city and is envisioned to be the city's master storage in the next 10 20 years. The $1,150,000-tank is built of all-welded steel and a self-supporting roof and a knucle transition from sidewalls to roof. The storage tank was designed by Gary Owen and Associates and constructed by Fisher Tank Co.
