Baseball stadium hits home run for recycling and composting
Article Abstract:
One feature that separates the baseball stadium, SBC Park from most stadiums is its commitment to comprehensive recycling, water and energy conservations, and growing use of biodegradable, recycled content and lower toxicity products. In 2004, the recovery program at SBC Park has recycled over 1,760 tons of materials and achieved a 56 percent diversion rate and saved approximately $100,000 on garbage disposal.

Adding residential organics to yard trimmings setouts
Article Abstract:
Possible impacts of a residential yard debris/ food scraps program on existing collection and composting system is assesed and studied in the Oregon region, Portland. It is observed that most yard trimmings are delivered directly to permitted composting sites and collection is done atleast twice per month by franchised haulers.
