Texas transportation department accelerates highway use of compost
Article Abstract:
The Texas Dept of Transportation has launched a program to use compost to provide erosion control on highway slopes, and to revegetate areas already exposed to erosion. Applications include loose berms and compost filter socks, material tubes filled with compost that are used where foundations for silt fences cannot be sunk due to concrete or rocks.
