Biosolids compost reduces lead bioavailability in urban soils
Article Abstract:
Biosolids are useful in remediating soil contaminated with lead as they change its mineral form, binding with it to produce insoluble compounds such as iron, phosphorus, and manganese. Several different biosolid treatments are tested, including compost, compost and lime, ash, heat-dried pellets and raw biosolids.
