Targeting business categories
Article Abstract:
Concentrating resources on high refuse generators and specific materials is a rational way of commercial recycling in terms of cost. The dearth of data, vast range of generators and different commercial sector definitions offer challenges to devising suitable recycling programs. One method is to do a sector analysis. Montgomery County, Maryland was selected for this. The analysis revealed explicit fluctuation in generation from one commercial segment to another.

Regional composting of waste paper and food
Article Abstract:
Recycling programs based in Bangor, Maine, aim at restricting recycling costs by evaluating nonbulky household wastes. The economics of centralized composting depend on the geographic area, size of the program and bottle bills. Recycling costs can be minimized upon cocomposting of food, waste paper and wastewater treatment biosolids.
