Article Abstract:
Nine local government organizations have reportedly completed the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Initiative sponsored by the EPA's Wastewater Management Office and Compliance Office. The EMS is not intended to to replace regulations or a facility's compliance system. It is a set of management processes and procedures that enables organizations to analyze, control and minimize the ecologic impact of their activities with greater efficiency.
