Control of strawberry black root rot with compost socks
Article Abstract:
Common and renewable organic materials, namely compost and vinegar, are evaluated for rapid, low-cost field establishment of raised-row, referred to as the "GroExx System" compost socks, strawberries in nonfumigated soils with history of black root rot (BRR). Result reveal that such a raised-row growing method significantly reduces root rot symptoms and increases yields.
