In-vessel systems for on-site management
Article Abstract:
The number of public and private entities that utilize small-scale, in-vessel composting facilities is constantly increasing. These entities include small wastewater treatment plants, hospitals, prisons, schools and food processing and distribution companies. Among the most common composting systems in the market are modified rolloff containers. These trucks allow a combination of both in-vessel composting and windrow curing, and assure a controlled composting environment as well as minimized disposal costs.

News and views on Part 503
Article Abstract:
The federal sewage sludge management rule 503 published by the Environmental Protection Agency deals with the selling and distribution of biosolid products. Part 503 is self-implementing in nature, and the rule's deadlines will have to be adhered to even before the issuing of permits. Part 503 has to be implemented in every state, as it is a federal policy and may clash with individual state policies. This has raised doubts about the success of this operation.
