Environmental policy, adjustment costs, and behavior of the firm
Article Abstract:
A study exploring the effects of emission charges or limits on optimal productive and abatement inputs choices of a firm is presented in an infinite-horizon model of a profit maximizing firm experiencingadjustment costs and emission taxes. Results indicate that an increase in emission taxes reduces short-run emissions and reduce steady state productive inputs as well as increase steady-state abatement inputs.
