A typical batch tunnel composting facility from Dutch concern Gicom, one of the leading European batch tunnel manufacturers, processes a mixture of biowaste and biosolids. This firm has more than 40 batch tunnel composting plants installed or planned. German concern Herhof Umweittechnik, a leading producer of batch tunnel systems, has more than 40 plants currently in operation, under construction or planned. UK concern AEA Technology is developing the Sirocco mobile batch tunnel system in collaboration with four other firms.

Vancouver, British Columbia-based Consolidated Envirowaste Technologies Inc. is a composting company established in 1986 by Doug Halward and Rick Chase. The company has established several receiving and composting sites in the Pacific Northwest and has several contracts with government and private entities. Its main product is cured compost which is used as fertilizer in horticultural production.
