New horizons in composting and organics recycling
Article Abstract:
Private companies in North America provide critical manufacturing prowess for processing and recovery of residuals to fulfill the aims of organics reuse. An observation made in the case study from Seward County Landfill reveals that composting is an excellent means of managing refuse, provided it is technically and economically feasible.

Comparing composting technologies at correctional facilities
Article Abstract:
The article compares and contrasts composting processes at several correctional facilities in New York state. Each site uses a different technology, from aerated bays to windrows to in-vessel systems. A related article is included regarding a cattle carcass composting pilot project.

University makes strides with food residuals composting

Pennsylvania State University redirects nearly two tons of food residuals per day from on-campus hotels and dining halls to a composting facility, where it is cured and windrowed. The resulting compost is used for university landscaping and groundskeeping projects.
