Article Abstract:
W.D.Zwicky and Son Inc. is a wood recovery and processing facility which employes 22 people on its 32-acre site in Pennsylvania. The business now has 70 machines including excavators, whole tree chippers and tub grinders. Almost no materials are wasted, with nails being extracted by magnets and rocks being sold for road bases. Haulers, municipalities and landscapers tip their residuals on Zwicky's site for between $3-5 per cy. Mixed blends of compost and topsoil are becoming popular and Zwicky and Son is easily able to meet demand.
