Seattle studies anaerobic solution for source-separated food residuals
Article Abstract:
Seattle Public Utilities (SPU) conducted an assessment of the feasibility of anaerobic digestion as a processing technology. The report found that anaerobic digestion technology was developed in Europe for food residuals for over 30 years, leading to 67 operating facilities with more than 1.6 million metric tons capacity as of 2002.
