Senate Democrats Back Suit To Force Implementation Of Arsenic Rule
Article Abstract:
Environmentalists have filed suit against the EPA claiming it violated a June 22, 2001 deadline for releasing an arsenic standard passed by the Clinton administration tightening the current 50 parts per billion limit to 10 parts per billion. Democratic Party senators Hillary Clinton, Harry Reid, Barbara Boxer and Jon Corzine said they support the suit.

The Environmental Protection Agency warned that the Bush administration's intra-agency regulatory review process which calls for management review of early decisions about rules is flawed because senior managers may not have time to provide input that early in the rulemaking process.
