Tale of two composting start-ups
Article Abstract:
Yard trimmings facility in Pennsylvania and food-rich feedstock composting site in Nevada illustrate two approaches to getting a composting facility up and running. The 2.5 acre north Londonderry township, Pennsylvania composting site is sized to process yard trimmings for the year 2006 and 2007, while the West Wendover Nevada windrows are set up as a good alternative to building a high-cost landfill.
