The Clifton Park Water Authority's 21st century system

Article Abstract:

The Clifton Park Water Authority integrated water supply services for 50,000 people in the New York town. A scalable control system combining Citect SCADA windows software and SIXNET programmable I/O for Windows was recommended for the municipal water distric to automate the network connecting remote RTUs with the water filtration plant's distributed control system. System components include four MDS2350A radios as main communication tools between sites.

Regulations and infrastructure developments drive Mexican water and wastewater treatment market

Article Abstract:

Mexican authorities are implementing new regulations in view of the increasing number of contaminated water sources. Government efforts to develop new sources of clean drinking water are expected to spur growth in the country's water and wastewater treatment market. A study conducted by Frost & Sullivan estimates the market to expand between 1998 and 2004 from 1997 revenues of $360 million.

Water business in Latin America and the Caribbean: A new approach?

Article Abstract:

Private sector participation (PSP) was adopted in Latin America and the Caribbean to promote and develop the water supply industry as government changes accompanied infrastructure projects. Countries with governments that showed strong political commitment gained from PSP. The PSP approach is also conditioned by the level of public awareness of its role and implementation.
