Transferring compost technology to the farming community
Article Abstract:
The Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service and the West Virginia Soil Conservation Agency has conducted a demonstration project to transfer composting technology to the farming community. The demonstration project also aimed to develop non-traditional markets for poultry litter. The project showed how poultry manure and hardwood dust from sawmills can be converted into high quality compost.
