Wastewater odor control: an evaluation of technologies
Article Abstract:
A number of technologies can be used in controlling odor in wastewater treatment plants. These technologies can be divided into two major groups, vapor-phase technologies that are usually applied in controlling odor sources in gas or air and liquid-phase technologies that are applied to the wastewater itself. Choosing the right odor control technique depends on the plant's existing condition, the treatment objectives and on economic considerations.

Isopolyester cover-up helps keep wastewater plant running
Article Abstract:
A wastewater treatment plant in Chino, CA, uses structural enclosures coated with isopolyester resin to protect against several chemicals contained in industrial wastes coming from six cities. Aside from being highly chemical resistant, isopolyester-coated enclosures, which were manufactured by Wyoming, MN-based Fiberglass Structures and Tank Co, also have good impact resistance and durability.

Experimenting with trenchless technology
Article Abstract:
A new procedure called Ultra-Liner (fold and form method) was used by the City of Loveland, CO, to replace its water and sanitary water lines. The method basically uses a PVC alloy pipe that is folded in half at the production site for easy installation at the replacement site. The trenchless procedure was chosen by Loveland because an open cut replacement would be far too expensive.
