What is behind the attack on recycling?
Article Abstract:
Recycling as a process requires little time, decreases pollution and economizes on energy. However, it still has strong opposition mainly due to three reasons. Hauling companies are against recycling as they earn greater profit on their investment in disposal than that in recycling. Recycling activities are labour intensive as compared to disposal techniques which are capital intensive. Banks and bond firms strongly support the latter while opposing the former. Further, recycling has been called a very wasteful activity. Nevertheless, the recycling process will remain strong.

Creating a zero waste future in Europe
Article Abstract:
There is no comparable recycling infrastructure in France, yet the country is poised for fundamental change from the traditional burn and bury paradigm. Although the recycling movements in France and the United Kingdom are vastly different, they may soon converge on a zero waste future.
