Winning recipe for compost
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on the methods used by the city of Douglas, Georgia, to convert a yard waste grinding program into a composting operation. The revamped program now includes tobacco and cotton gin trash, poultry litter and municipal biosolids, which are processed in windrows and then donated free of charge to the public, saving the city $500,000 per year in dumping fees.
