Article Abstract:
The 1999 Hispanic Business 500's No. 1 company is Miami-based MasTec Inc. which is also the first Hispanic company with revenues of more than $1 billion. MasTec, a construction firm, moved up from No. 3 last year. Last year's No. 1 company is not on this years list because it was sold to a non-Hispanic firm. The companies on this year's list generated revenues of $17.44 billion. The smallest company posted $5.54 million.

Revenues have increased at publicly traded Spanish-language broadcasters, but their stock prices have reduced in 2005. The total market capitalization of the Hispanic broadcast companies Univision, Entravision and Spanish Broadcasting have declined a $1.2 billion, but the revenues have increased in the first nine months of 2005.
