About 180 members and guests, including several members of the China-Britain Business Council attended the Biennial Dinner of the Society held at the Royal Garden Hotel, London. Lord Powell of Bayswater, President of the China-Britain Business Council and Private Secretary to the Prime Minister between 1983 and 1991 was the principal guest and speaker.

A technology gap is emerging in the US, with poor people and those from minority communities having limited access to technology. Research indicates that those in urban areas are more than twice as likely to have Internet access than those with the same income in rural areas.
