Barreto bows out: Head of oft-criticized Small Business Administration resigns

Article Abstract:

Small Business Administration (SBA) chief, Hector Barreto, has resigned in 2006, after nearly five years on the job, to become national chairman of The Latino Coalition, a pro-business advocacy group based in Washington DC. Barreto's resignation came during a major personnel shake-up in the Bush Administration by the new White House Chief of Staff, Joshua Bolten, to address the administration's low approval ratings.

Kravetz to lead AHAA: L.A. executive to head new leadership and structure for association

Article Abstract:

Carl Kravetz, co-founder of Los Angeles-based advertising agency cruz/kravetz:IDEAS was appointed by The Association of Hispanic Advertising Agencies (AHAA) in replacement of Alex Lopez Negrete, CEO of Lopez Negrete communications. The aim is to make a transition from a focus on the value of Hispanic marketing to the value of using specialized Hispanic agencies in marketing to Hispanic consumers.

Tremors follow Sanchez's exit from Caucus

Article Abstract:

The abrupt resignation of California representative Loretta Sanchez has created bitterness in the Congressional Hispanic Caucus (CHC). Although CHC chair Joe Baca denies her charges that he was disrespectful to her and dismissive of her views, some other representatives are supportive of Sanchez's claims and are also thinking of leaving to form their own group.
