Holding pattern: Hispanic representation at the conference table has held steady since 1999

Article Abstract:

Hispanic representation in the boardroom remains stagnant in 2006 despite Wall Street summit conferences, speeches by politicians and regulators, and organized lobbying efforts. To qualify for the Boardroom Elite, the individual must be a US citizen of Hispanic descent who sits on the board of a Fortune 500 corporation headquartered in the 50 states or the District of Columbia.

Discovering Hispanic health care: firms - both reputable and not - recognize the market potential in fulfilling Hispanics' health needs

Article Abstract:

There is a growing interest in Hispanic health issues just as there is in the Hispanic population overall. Latino Health Care company, Santa Fe Springs, CA, is developing a health insurance plan designed especially for Hispanics. Jose Gonzalez, CEO of the firm, estimates that 60% of the Southern California Hispanic population have no health plan coverage.

Catering to the big customers: aerospace, information, and automotive buyers drive the market for large Hispanic high-tech firms

Article Abstract:

Most of the $1.83 billion sales of Hispanic high-tech firms were produced by high-tech firms servicing Washington, Detroit and Silicon Valley. Minority business certification is held by 90% of the companies listed on the Hispanic Business High-Tech 50 directory and 46% participate in the Small Business Administration's 8(a) program.
