Conflict in the South Caucasus
Article Abstract:
The speech delivered by Sir Brian Fall in October 2005 at a Rose-Roth Seminar in Yerevan under the auspices of NATO Parliamentary Assembly regarding South Caucasus and its problems is presented. The disputed areas of the unresolved conflicts such as Abkhazia, South Ossetia and Nagorno-Karabakh are discussed and it is believed that due to unresolved conflicts the people of South Caucasus face problems of casualties of war, the dead and injured, the refugees, and internally displaced persons.

Happier bedfellows? Russia and Central Asia under Putin
Article Abstract:
This article examines Vladimir Putin's foreign relations policy toward Central Asia. The author argues Putin is determined to create a coherent foreign relations policy, causing China and the United States to become involved in the region, and maintains that Russian foreign policy is currently an umbrella term for a number of foreign policies that will take time to consolidate.

A tale of two deserts: The Sahara and the Gobi
Article Abstract:
A comparison has been made between the world's two great and forbidding deserts, the Sahara and the Gobi. Although both deserts are spreading relentlessly, the basic differences are that in parts of Gobi, there is no fresh water whereas Sahara is punctuated by ancient wells; and the Gobi is harsher, bleaker and more hostile than the Sahara.
