Congress is threatening to reduce funding for the MBDA from $44 million to $32 million or less. Critics of the MBDA believe it is a corporate welfare program, but it provides $400 million in tax revenue at a cost of only $40 million. MBDA supporters want to emphasize its international trade benefits.
