Ricky Martin's self-titled English-language debut album has been certified quadruple platinum. Latin music is everywhere this summer. Other Latin performers have conquered the mainstream America. Hispanic influence is being recognized for its intrinsic value to North American culture. There are 37 million Latinos in the U.S. The crossover success has been phenomenal, with sales of Latin music videos increasing 105% last year.

A Hispanic student refused to enroll at the U.C. Berkeley law school because of the fear of being the only Hispanic student in class. The adoption of race-neutral policy has led to the decrease of Hispanic applicants to the said law school.
