'Equal opportunity' threatens affirmative action
Article Abstract:
Bob Dole has introduced The Equal Opportunity Act of 1995 to end racial and gender preferences in federal contracts and programs. Even with the present programs, however, minority and women-owned businesses get less than 5% of the contracts. Minority and women caucuses are trying to fight this measure.

Opinion surveys of the 100 Most Influential Hispanics show a significant change on the political perceptions of Hispanic leaders. Majority of the influentials have regarded that the success of urban Hispanics is dependent on political involvement, economic progress, and international business skills.
