Investment advisors explain that, generally, high returns involve high risks. Investors lose money if they sell their investments when prices drop. Risk is viewed as a fluctuation in value by mutual fund managers, and not as loss. Fluctuations have moved upwards during the past few years, pushing the high-growth- potential market. Investors have become less conservative.
